M. Cassab Group expands corporate governance

The executive Fernando Abrantes Rafael Anselmo is the new chief director of chemical division of the Group M. Cassab, which will consolidate the activities of the divisions of industrial chemicals, fine chemicals, animal technology, human nutrition, pharmaceutical and laboratory operations beyond the operations of the area in Argentina and Asia.

Abrantes has a degree in civil engineering and has solid experience in the petrochemical and chemical segment, passing 16 years as CEO Ipiranga Química and chairman of quantiQ.

The hiring of the executive os part of the company's strategic plan with focus on the 100 years, which will be completed in 2028. With this step, the M. Cassab Group invests in its corporate governance and in the synergy between the organization divisions.

"The expectation is that the chemical division becomes even more efficient and competitive by ensuring the continued growth, evidence of this is investment in building the Distribution Center in Cajamar (SP), in an area of 145,000 m2 with an initial investment of US$ 29 million, " said Abrantes.
 
With 15 business units and 100% domestic, the M. Cassab Group closed 2011 with revenues of US$ 496 million. In total, the company has about three thousand direct and indirect employees. Company is the second largest chemical distributor in Brazil, the third largest in Latin America and 24th largest in the world, with more than five thousand customers, portfolio of more one thousand products and sales  of chemical areas of US$ 361,7 million in 2011. The expectation for 2012 is to grow 23%.
