Anvisa sets new rules for Sunscreen
The minimum Sun Protection Factor (SPF) will increase from 2 to 6 and protection against UVA rays has to be of at least one third of the declared value of SPF, Anvisa (National Agency for Sanitary Vigilance) has determined this week in RDC 30/2012, in accordance with the new parameters for sunscreens adopted throughout Mercosur.
It was also set by the agency, specific and updated methodologies for verification against UVA. The new RDC also increases levels of the tests required to prove the protectors effectiveness.
The term of adequacy of manufacturers within the norm is two years.
